Relevance  of LCMW biomass types

1. Grass: road sides maintenance

  • Distribution in the regions (homogenous)
  • Approximate <1% of the region area
  • Maintenance of local roads, roads category II and IIIà Technical infrastructure, traffic
  • The LCMW biomass is to some extent used in composting plant Kompostárna Jarošovice

2. Grass: urban space maintenance

  • Public green spaces within the municipalities à small spot disseminated
  • Approximate <1% of the region area
  • Maintain urban space à Scenery, recreation (regular maintenance from April until October, higher frequency in bigger towns and on sport/recreational facilities; Town parks: regular maintenance, very often mix of woody and herbaceous biomass)
  • The LCMW biomass is to some extent used in Composting plant Kompostárna Jarošovice

3. River side cleaning

  • Approximate <1% of the region area
  • Nature/environmental protection
  • Very limited volume of this type of LCMW, at present not used to a large extent

  • Distribution in the regions (homogenous)
  • Approximate <1% of the region area
  • Maintenance of local roads, roads category II and IIIà Technical infrastructure, traffic  (maintenance in spring and autumn, sometimes also winter, usually short-term event with larger volume of feedstock)
  • The LCMW biomass is to some extent used for chipping (PRO-ODPAD) and serve as an additive to compost from composting plant Jarošovice or the wood chips are used for direct combustion
